Call for Papers Kaija Saariaho has been recognized by many award-giving institutions, festivals and concert halls as one of the prominent contemporary art music composers in the Western world. In addition to impressing concert audiences and journalists, her unique music idiom has fascinated researchers all over the world. We have the honour to invite researchers from musicology and related fields to a scholarly symposium that studies Kaija Saariaho's music and career development to celebrate the 60th birthday of the composer.
