Nordiska orkesterkonferensen i Tammerfors, Finland
The Nordic Orchestra Conference will be held in Tampere in September 25-27, 2008. All the orchestra managers and other representatives of Nordic - and this time also Baltic orchestras - are warmly welcome to take part to the conference. We will concentrate to orchestra audience research and marketing questions, discuss about Nordic and Baltic cooperation in orchestra field, we can learn interesting visions about new technics, music and mobility from Nokia's and orchestras' point of view. We will hear the latest news concerning the Helsinki Music Centre, we will talk about art and music itself and we are going to think together about musicians ageing and flexibility in orchestras - and many other interesting questions. All our speakers are highly appreciated specialists.
Beside deep talks we can enjoy listening a wonderful concert of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by maestro Okko Kamu, visit exciting sites and delight "social life" together with this wonderful common orchestral "family". Welcome!
The conference sessions will be held on Thursday the 25th andFriday the 26th in Hotel Scandic Tampere City (that is also our official conference hotel with negotiated room prices) and on Saturday 27th September in Tampere Hall.

Transport information from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Tampere:
You can take an express bus from the airport to Tampere with one change in Keimola or you can take a taxi or bus to Helsinki City Centre or to TIKKURILA railwaystation.
You will find the train schedules also in English and på svenska from HERE and the bus information to Tikkurila (the same train leaves 14-21 minutes before Tikkurila from the Helsinki city centre) HERE or HERE.
The long distance bus connections from the airport to Tampere, you can find HERE .
From the Tampere-Pirkkala airport it's better take a taxi to the hotel, it takes 10-15 minutes.
The conference hotel is just in front of the railway station and about 10 minutes walk from the bus station.
